PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic device with a touch detection function that can enhance reliability of a touch operation while suppressing decrease in followability.SOLUTION: A mobile phone includes a touch detection unit 14 and a control unit 11. The touch detection unit 14 includes: a touch panel 14a that detects a touch position to a display surface of a display unit 13; and a panel controller 14b that outputs average position data serving as averaged position data on touch positions respectively detected at a plurality of detection timings and single position data serving as position data on a touch position detected at an individual timing. The control unit 11 controls the display unit 13 on tha basis of the average position data or the single position data, and the control unit 11 further selects the average position data or the single position data as position data for use in control of the display unit 13 on the basis of an application program to be run.
