LIQUID EJECTION DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid ejection device provided with a constitution which can downsize and simplify the device by power saving of a drive source and can downsize and simplify the device by its simple construction without restricting operations of the drive source.SOLUTION: A liquid ejection device is provided with supply flow passages 103 which are respectively connected with liquid droplet ejection heads which are classified into several colors, and a circulating flow passage 104 connected to the supply flow passages 103. Each of the supply flow passages 103 is provided with a liquid sending pump P1. The respective liquid sending pumps P1 are driven by a single drive source 105. The supply flow passage 103 provided with the liquid sending pump P1 rotating in a uniform direction has a flow passage switching mechanism 100 for selecting the supply flow passages through which the liquid should be sent. The flow passage switching mechanism 100 is so constructed that it is used by the supply flow passages or is moved to a position where it selects one of control tubes and can open and close the supply flow passages in order by squashing flexible tubes or releasing the squashing.
