Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reducing the diameter of a metallic tube by spinning, by which flaring at the tube end which is actualized by thinning and higher reduction rate of the metallic tube to be a base stock and a shape defect phenomenon such as folded wrinkles and cracks, or the like due to the flaring is prevented advantageously and simultaneously productivity is improved, in the method for reducing the diameter of the metallic tube by spinning, by which the diameter of the metallic tube is reduced by pushing a roll-shaped tool performing reciprocating movement in the axial direction of the metallic tube while revolving around the center axis of a metallic tube to be the base stock.SOLUTION: After reducing only the center part 10c in the axial direction of a metallic tube 10, by cutting the diameter reduced part 10c on a cutting line 10b and dividing it into two, two parts 11, 12 with the tube ends reduced in diameters are obtained without causing defects in a shape.
