Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of suppressing the flicker of an AF frame with high accuracy.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus comprises: an imaging unit which generates plural images by consecutively imaging a subject in time series; a subject detection unit which detects the subject from a display-target image; a display unit which displays the display-target image; and a control unit which controls the display unit to perform superimposed display, on the display-target image, of a subject frame representing the subject detected by the subject detection unit. The control unit controls the display unit to display a subject frame in each of plural preceding images imaged by the imaging unit before the display-target image, with the subject frame of the display-target image while adjusting luminance.
