Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a glass paste capable of firing in a short time while preventing pinhole defects from occurring during coating and firing, because pinhole defects occur when coating a conventional glass paste, and sufficient temperature and time of heat treatment are indispensable for a process of firing the coated glass paste, when forming a glass layer as an insulating layer or a protective layer of a substrate or an electrode.SOLUTION: There is provided a glass paste including a glass powder material and an organic vehicle, where the glass paste contains 0.1-5 mass% of an organic binder; the organic binder is a polymer containing a hydroxy group; a monomer having the hydroxy group accounts for 15 mol% or more of monomers constituting the polymer; and viscosity of the glass paste at 25°C is 100-100,000 mPa s.
