Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-quality PDP arranged so that a variation in noise occurrence is suppressed by making smaller a variation in distances between two substrates.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a display device comprises the step of sealing between front and back plates with a seal member including a glass member and spherical member 43. The glass member has: 50-90 vol.% of glass powder 52; and 10-50 vol.% of filler 42. The filler 42 has a maximum particle diameter of 1-50 μm. The content of the spherical member 43 is 0.1-0.17 wt.% to the glass member. The seal member sinks in a dielectric layer 8 or an underlying dielectric layer 13 from the outermost surface thereof to a depth in a range of more than 0 to 5 μm.
