APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR FLAW DETECTION OF ROUND STEEL BAR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method capable of promptly performing flaw detection for a defect of a round steel bar.SOLUTION: A round steel bar flaw detection apparatus is configured to detect a defect within a round steel bar through water-soaked ultrasonic flaw detection and comprises an electron scan array probe which is provided with a predetermined clearance interposed with the round steel bar and performs electronic scan in a direction vertical to a drawing direction of the round steel bar, and an array prove moving section which causes the electron scan array probe to perform mechanical scan in the drawing direction of the round steel bar. For a predetermined area of the round steel bar, flaw detection is performed while making an electronic scanning direction of the electron scan array probe vertical to a mechanical scanning direction of the electron scan array probe.
