The rail support track 40 forms a closed path. The first marking zone 20 marks a sheet 5 of substrate medium. Also, the first platen cart 80 moves along the rail support track 40. The first platen cart 80 recirculates around the closed path. The first platen cart 80 conveys the sheet 5 of substrate medium in a process direction along at least a part of the closed path through the first marking zone 20.
