CABLE WINDING ABNORMALITY DETECTOR AND CABLE WINDING ABNORMALITY DETECTION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cable winding abnormality detector and a cable winding abnormality detection method capable of detecting cable winding abnormality appropriately.SOLUTION: Front and rear images of a cable reel 4 are captured by means of two cameras 5a, 5b, and a determination is made whether or not a cable 3 exists in front and rear of the cable reel 4 on the basis of the images thus captured. On the basis of the fact that on which side of the front or rear side a steel receiving truck 1 is located with reference to a feeding point P, and a determination result of whether or not the cable 3 exists in front and rear of the cable reel 4, a determination is made whether or not the image of the cable 3 has been captured, although it is never captured under a normal state, thus detecting the winding abnormality of the cable 3 by the cable reel 4. When winding abnormality is detected, operation of the steel receiving truck 1 is stopped.
