Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that micro dust such as iron powder included in liquid may be accumulated on a float due to a magnet piece attached to the float when a liquid detection device detecting the position of a liquid surface using the float having the magnet piece attached thereon is applied to a liquid cartridge.SOLUTION: An ink cartridge 1 includes: an ink receiving chamber 13 receiving ink; and a float 17 containing a magnetic permeating material and floating on the ink in the ink receiving chamber 13. A printing apparatus includes: an electromagnet 21 magnetizing the float 17; and an ink remaining amount detection part 20 detecting the remaining amount of the ink in the ink receiving chamber 13 on the basis of a floating position of the magnetized float 17.
