Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting a polynucleotide or a polypeptide encoded by the same and a kit or a primer set for the same by clarifying the polynucleotide being a novel causative gene of cancer.SOLUTION: A fused gene of a part of an HSD17B7 gene and a part of a DDR2 gene present in a part of a cancer patient was found out to be a causative gene of cancer and a method for detecting a polynucleotide being the gene and a polypeptide encoded by the same was established. In the detecting method, the fused gene of the part of the HSD17B7 gene and the part of a DDR2 gene or a fused protein encoded by the same is detected. A primer set or a kit for detecting includes a sense primer designed from a part encoding the HSD17B7 and an antisense primer designed from a part encoding the DDR2.
