Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable independent traveling of an electric railway vehicle without adding a dedicated electricity storage device for traveling and charging apparatus for charging the electricity storage device.SOLUTION: A vehicle comprises a first electric power supply means (3a) for obtaining elective power from the outside and a plurality of second electric power supply means (17a, 17b) comprising an electricity storage means provided as a power supply for controlling the vehicle and a power supply for an indicator light and an emergency light or the like. When the electric power supply cannot be obtained from the first electric power supply means (3a), elective power is supplied to an inverter driving device (6a) from a part of the plurality of second electric power supply means (17a, 17b) by switching electricity storage means contactors (18a, 18b) to drive an ac motor (15a). Accordingly, independent traveling of the vehicle is performed during emergency or maintenance inspection.
