SECONDARY BATTERY AND MANUFACTURING METHOD FOR THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery equipped with a current path shutdown mechanism capable of blocking a vibration affecting on the shutdown mechanism.SOLUTION: A secondary battery includes: an electric generation element (20) for carrying out charging and discharging; a case (10) for housing the electric generation element in a sealed state; a collector (111) housed in the case and electrically connected to the electric generation element; and a deformation member (116) for deforming with the elevation of internal pressure of the case to shut down the mechanical connection with the collector. The secondary battery further includes: an electrode terminal (110) projecting to the outside of the case and electrically connected to the deformation member; and a holder (114) made of insulation material and fixed to the case for supporting the collector. The holder includes a boss (114d) which penetrates the collector and whose tip part is provided along the outer surface of the collector through thermal caulking treatment.
