Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power generation system considering drive prohibition time of the power generation system during heat sterilization of a hot water storage unit.SOLUTION: A power generation system 1 includes: a power generation unit 2 for supplying power by a power generation; a hot water storage unit 3 for storing heat generated in a power generation unit; a control device 4 for controlling driving and stopping of the power generation unit; and an at-home detector 5 for detecting whether or not a user using the hot water in the hot water storage unit is at home. The control device heats the hot water in the hot water storage unit by making the power generation unit drive when the time from a time point that the at-home detector detects the user at home to a time point of starting a prohibition time zone that prohibits the power generation unit from driving is longer than the heating time required for sterilizing the water in the hot water storage unit by the heat supplied from the power generation unit.
