Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tappet for a pump which has an inexpensive constitution and is reducible in weight.SOLUTION: A tappet 31 for a pump comprises: a shaft 27; a rolling bearing 20 arranged at the outside diameter side of the shaft 27 and abutting on a cam 12 and its outside diameter face 22; and an intermediate bottom 34 for partitioning a cylindrical peripheral wall 33 and an internal space of the peripheral wall 33. The tappet also includes a case 32 for accommodating the shaft 27 and the rolling bearing 20. The case 32 comprises: a first member 36 including a cylindrical external wall whose both ends are opened; a second member 41 which is arranged at the inside diameter side of the first member 36, and whose one end is opened, and the other end is closed by a first bottom wall 44; and a positioning pin 56 or the like as a holding mechanism for causing the first member 36 to hold the second member 41. The first member 36 and the second member 41 are manufactured by press processing, respectively.
