Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for controlling tension of a string-like material capable of keeping a tension of the string-like material on the another side larger than a tension on one side in a condition requiring that the string-like material should be fed at a low speed by keeping low tension, and to provide a tension uniformizing system.SOLUTION: An apparatus for controlling a tension of a string-like material includes: a pair of shafts 13, 14 arranged parallel to each other by interposing a ceramics fiber (the string-like material) W fed from one side to the another side; a pair of rollers 11, 12 each made of an elastic body, rotatably supported to the shafts 13, 14, and coming into contact with each other; and a pressing force imparting mechanism for imparting force for pressing each other to the rollers 11, 12 each made of the elastic body to elastically deform contact parts 11a, 12a of both of them in contact with each other by interposing the ceramics fiber W. Here, the pair of rollers 11, 12 each made of the elastic body are rotated by static frictional resistance with the ceramics fiber W fed to the another side to generate rolling resistance, and a tension Tlarger than a tension Tbefore passage between the rollers 11, 12 is imparted to the ceramics fiber W having passed between the rollers 11, 12.
