ALUMINUM HYDROXIDE POWDER AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide aluminum hydroxide powder which can be molded and granulated by adding only water without adding a binder.SOLUTION: There is provided aluminum hydroxide powder with an accumulated pore volume V of 1.0 mL/g or greater in the range of 0.01-1 μm pore radius R measured by a mercury intrusion technique. The aluminum hydroxide powder has high shape-retaining properties, and can be molded and granulated even by adding only water, so can avoid commingling of impurities derived from a binder, thereby high purity alumina can be obtained by firing the aluminum hydroxide.
