Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorine-containing magnetic material excellent in magnetic characteristics and thermal stability.SOLUTION: During a process of introducing fluorine into an Sm-Fe based material having a ThZnstructure, a crystal structure thereof is controlled, and an Sm-Fe-F phase constituting the material is configured so as to include a first group having a mixture ratio of F of less than 1% in molar ratio and a second group having a mixture ratio of F of 1% or more and less than 4% in molar ratio, while a volume ratio of the second group with respect to the total magnetic material is 50% or more. The second group is formed more than the first group in a position at a depth in a range of 1 μm to 2.5 μm from the surface of the magnetic material.
