Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength conversion member capable of achieving cost reduction through reduction in a content of a fluorescent substance without degrading light emission efficiency of a semiconductor light-emitting device, the wavelength conversion member being provided on the same, as well as the semiconductor light-emitting device using the wavelength conversion member.SOLUTION: A wavelength conversion member for releasing emission light of a wavelength different from that of incident light by converting wavelengths of at least part of the incident light includes a fluorescent substance absorbing at least a part of the incident light and releasing emission light of a wavelength different from that of the incident light, a light diffusion member for diffusing the incident light as well as the emission light, and a mother material retaining the light diffusion member, satisfying a mathematical formula: 0.05≤|(refraction index of light diffusion member)-(refraction index of mother material)|×(thickness [mm] of the wavelength conversion member)×(weight concentration [wt.%] of light diffusion member)≤4.00.
