INFORMATION CODE READER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide structure for promptly performing reading with high accuracy even in the case that format information cannot be correctly recognized at a point of imaging in an information code reader which reads an information code formed by recording the format information in a predetermined area.SOLUTION: In an information code reader 1, decryption means decrypts format information recorded in a format information recording area on the basis of a code image of an information code picked up by a light receiving sensor 23 (imaging means), and decrypts data recorded in a data recording area on the basis of the decrypted format information. Furthermore, when decryption of the format information recorded in the format information recording area fails, the decryption means uses the read format information stored in format information storage means before a point of the failure of the decryption as a part or the whole of the format information on the information code, and decrypts the data recorded in the data information area.
