PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a production method of an electrode material for secondary electrode using a composite of fibrous carbon and a metal compound in which the electric capacitance, or the electric capacitance and the conductivity, are enhanced, and to provide an excellent electrode material for secondary electrode.SOLUTION: A first solution dissolving fibrous carbon and one kind or more of constituent element source of a metal compound is prepared, and then the first solution thus obtained is stirred. Meanwhile, a second solution dissolving a constituent element source containing a reaction initiator is prepared. The second solution is added to the first solution, and the mixture is stirred so as to cause sol-gel reaction, thus firing a reactant.
