PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an access time to data at low cost even in the case of making the capacity of record data a large amount of capacity.SOLUTION: In a magnetic tape, a first partition for recording an original file and a second partition for recording a copy file of the original file are created. In the case of creating a copy file in the second partition, a recording position for recording the copy file is determined such that an average access distance from a magnetic head part is the shortest position, and the copy file is recorded at the determined recording position. Then, in a case where the magnetic tape device accesses a file recorded in the magnetic tape, the magnetic tape device accesses a file of a recording position closer to the position of the magnetic head part during the accessing between the original file and the copy file when the copy file of the file has been recorded.
