PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a torque detection device having a configuration contributing to improvement of yield, and an electric power steering device including the device.SOLUTION: A torque detection device includes a yoke unit 50. The yoke unit 50 includes a first magnetic yoke 60 and a second magnetic yoke 70. The first magnetic yoke 60 and the second magnetic yoke 70 are formed by belt-like soft magnetic plates. The first magnetic yoke 60 and the second magnetic yoke 70 are arranged in a magnetic field of a permanent magnet 42 to form a magnetic circuit, and the change of a rotational position with respect to the permanent magnet is accompanied by the change of a flow of a magnetic flux between the circuit and the permanent magnet. The first magnetic yoke 60 and the second magnetic yoke 70 include yoke proximity parts 61 and 71 and yoke separation parts 62 and 72 formed by folding and bending the soft magnetic plates in a plate thickness direction. Distances between the yoke proximity parts 61 and 71 and the permanent magnet 42 are smaller than distances between the yoke separation parts 62 and 72 and the permanent magnet 42.
