Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effective technique for improving a biofilm retention capacity of a contact material in a water treatment device including a filling region filled with the reticular contact material.SOLUTION: A water treatment device 100 includes: a treatment tank body 101 having a storage space 101a; a water treatment part 101b installed in the storage space 101a to treat water to be treated; a contact aeration part 151 filled with a reticular filter (contact material) C3 of the water treatment part 101b; and a biofilm retention mechanism to enhance a biofilm retention capacity of the filter by performing setting so that the filter has predetermined surface roughness.
