PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the inconvenience that absence is recognized although a recognition object is present in a prescribed area, in a recognition system which uses a presence recognizing sensor that detects a movement of the recognition object within the prescribed area to output a detection signal, and stops outputting detection signals when the recognition object is in a micromotion state or in a static state.SOLUTION: First and second recognition sensors 200A and 200C are mounted respectively in a prescribed recognition area 201C, and an adjacent area 201A adjacent to the prescribed recognition area 201C by sandwiching a doorway 406 therebetween, and presence/absence of a recognition object within the recognition area 201C is detected according to a coordinated pattern of detection signals P of the first and second sensors.
