Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently recovering valuable metal, such as cobalt and/or nickel and lithium, from a scrapped lithium ion secondary battery at low cost.SOLUTION: A method for recovering valuable materials from a lithium ion secondary battery is a method for extracting lithium and cobalt and/or nickel from a lithium ion secondary battery including manganese, lithium, and cobalt and/or nickel, and includes the steps of: producing a slurry by dissolving a positive electrode active material into sulfuric acid; and adding a hydrogen peroxide solution to the slurry, thereafter making a filtrate contain lithium and cobalt and/or nickel, and separating lithium and cobalt and/or nickel by taking manganese into a residue.
