Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy extraction apparatus and an energy extraction method in which energy can be efficiently extracted from decomposition heat generated by decomposing nitrous oxide.SOLUTION: After a low-temperature side 1b of conversion means 1 is cooled by using a nitrous oxide gas (NO) obtained by adiabatically expanding nitrous oxide, the nitrous oxide gas is decomposed by using a catalyst 4, and a high-temperature side 1a of the conversion means 1 is heated by using a decomposition gas (N, O) of the nitrous oxide obtained by decomposing the nitrous oxide gas. Thus, a remarkable temperature difference can be generated between the high-temperature side 1a and the low-temperature side 1b of the conversion means 1. By utilizing such a temperature difference before and after the decomposition of the nitrous oxide gas, energy such as electric power or motive force can be efficiently extracted.
