PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the accuracy of the meandering correction of an endless belt.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 100 comprises: an intermediate transfer belt 41; a tension roller 44; a shaft member 45; a meandering correction mechanism part 300; and a striking mechanism part 331. The meandering correction mechanism part 300 includes deviation transmitting members 310A and 310B which are moved along the shaft direction 94 of the tension roller 44 according to the deviation of the intermediate transfer belt 41 and increases and decreases the urging force applied to both ends of the shaft member 45 according to the moving amount of the deviation transmitting members 310A and 310B along the shaft direction 94, respectively. The striking mechanism part 331 strikes the shaft member 45 at a predetermined timing.
