Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable display device with improved operability for a user.SOLUTION: A portable display device that includes a display 11 provided in a housing 20 and for displaying an image on the basis of operation by a user includes: a driving mechanism 23 that changes a position of the display 11 in a housing 10 (a relative position of the housing 20 with respect to the housing 10); and a control unit that controls the driving mechanism 23. The control unit is configured to estimate a visible region by the user in the housing 10 on the basis of a detection value and the like of various sensors and output to the driving mechanism 23 a control command for changing the position of the display 11 to a specific position included in the visible region (a viewing position of the user). Therefore, irrespective of how the user moves the housing 10, the image on the display 11 is always displayed in the visible region by the user.
