Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve accuracy in detecting a neutral position, in a neutral position detecting device for a transmission equipped with a locating mechanism and a position detecting mechanism.SOLUTION: A locating mechanism (23) and a position detecting mechanism (24) include: groove parts (34, 40), respectively, formed in the outer circumferential surface of a cam (25) mounted on a shift and select shaft (11), so as to extend in a direction parallel with a rotation axis (11C) of the shift and select shaft (11); and movable parts (35, 41) held in a transmission case (2) so as to enter and exit the groove parts (34, 40). The groove part (34) of the locating mechanism (23) and the groove part (40) of the position detecting mechanism (24) are arranged to overlap each other in a direction along the rotation axis (11C) of the shift and select shaft (11) on the single cam (25).
