Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photocatalyst highly efficiently splitting water under visible light irradiation.SOLUTION: A photocatalyst is obtained by mixing together an Sr containing substance, a Ti containing substance, an Rh containing substance and an Sb containing substance such that a molar ratio of Sr:Ti:Rh:Sb is x:1.00:y:z (x is at least 1.001, y is at least 0.001 and not more than 0.015, and z is at least 0.002 and not more than 0.03) and firing the mixture.
