CURL ANTENNA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curl antenna miniaturized to a size not affecting the mounting of an electronic component on a compact handy terminal.SOLUTION: A curl antenna for transmitting/receiving a signal includes a curl antenna element having an overlapped winding start end with a winding terminal of a circumference portion that goes around. Folding portions are formed in at least an overlapped area of the winding start end with the winding terminal of the curl antenna element. The folding portions at the winding start end and the winding terminal are mutually closely faced. Because the overlap area between the winding start end and the winding terminal is formed with the folding portions, it is possible to reduce the length of the overlap area in the circumferential direction of the circumference portion, with a secured necessary length for the overlap area by the folding portions, and reduce a circumference length of the circumference portion forming a main portion of the curl antenna element by the folding portions.
