CONTROL DEVICE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an internal combustion engine, which can prevent the degradation in exhaust cleaning performance of a catalytic converter due to an influence of cylinders having air-fuel ratio deviation at start warming-up or the like.SOLUTION: A control device for an internal combustion engine detects an exhaust air-fuel ratio by an air-fuel ratio sensor on an exhaust passage of a multiple cylinder internal combustion engine which is provided with a catalytic converter for exhaust cleaning, corrects the fuel supply amount to each cylinder based on a detection value by the air-fuel ratio sensor to execute feedback control for allowing a combustion air-fuel ratio in each cylinder to follow a target air-fuel ratio and selectively executes fuel cut processing for stopping fuel supply to the each cylinder according to an operation condition of the internal combustion engine. The control device increases (step S13) an execution period of the fuel cut processing according to the required load of the internal combustion engine to the execution period in the operation condition in which the cylinders having air-fuel deviation are not generated on condition that the deviation amount of the combustion air-fuel ratio to the target air-fuel ratio is out of a specific range and the cylinders having air-fuel ratio deviation which are dispersed in a lean side are generated (step S11, S12).
