MEDICAL OBSERVATION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical observation system reducing a burden on an operator by allowing the setting of a point lock point to a position suitable for observation according to the shape of an operation region independently of the setting of a focal position.SOLUTION: A medical observation system including an observation device 1 observing an observed part from different directions with a point lock point as the center includes: a measurement means 9 measuring a three-dimensional shape of the observed part; and a setting means 7 setting the point lock point at a prescribed depth position on a nearly visual field central axis of the observation device 1. The measurement means 9 has a distance calculation means 9a setting a point on the visual field central axis of the observation device 1 on the surface of the observed part and two or more points on the periphery of the visual field central axis as ranging points, and calculating distances in a Z-axis direction in the respective ranging points. The setting means 7 sets the point lock point based on the distances in the Z-axis direction in the ranging point on the visual field central axis and at least two ranging points on the periphery of the visual field central axis which are calculated by the distance calculation means 9a.
