GAS TURBINE ENGINE CONTROL-SEEKING SENSOR-BASED PERFORMANCE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To disclose sensor-based performance control of a gas turbine engine.SOLUTION: An example method of controlling a gas turbine engine may include a step of varying an engine input parameter while operating the gas turbine engine to produce a desired output. The step of varying the engine input parameter includes a sub step of measuring a pre-adjustment value of an engine operating parameter with an engine input parameter at an initial value, a sub step of adjusting the engine input parameter to a current adjusted value, and a sub step of measuring a post-adjustment value of the engine operating parameter. The method may include the step of determining a future adjusted value of the engine input parameter and the step of iteratively repeating the step of varying the engine input parameter operation and the step of determining the future adjusted value of the engine input parameter operation. The method may be performed while operating the gas turbine engine to produce a desired output.
