METHOD OF FORMING MATERIAL HAVING PLASTICITY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently supply a material having plasticity into a metallic mold without leaving air therein, thereby suppressing the occurrence of defective molding.SOLUTION: Upper end faces of a lower die 30 and lower punches 32 and 60 on the side of the lower die 30 are matched with the upper end faces of an upper die 20 and an upper punch 50 on the side of the upper die 20, to be in a condition where no cavity is formed in a metallic mold. In this condition, the upper punch 50 is driven to open a gate 28 in the upper die 20, and furthermore, while lowering the lower punches 32 and 60 and forming a cavity 11, a material P in a material pooling section 26 within the upper die 20 is put into the cavity 11 by a plunger 40. Since the cavity 11 is kept under negative pressure, the material P can be smoothly and swiftly put into the cavity 11 and no air is left therein.
