SEALED LEAD ACID BATTERY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealed lead acid battery in which leakage of electrolyte due to cracking of a battery case, or the like, and leakage of electrolyte to the outside of a battery due to deterioration at the bonded part of a battery case and a lid can be prevented.SOLUTION: The sealed lead acid battery includes a leakage prevention layer which can prevent leakage of electrolyte to the outside of a storage battery 3, by setting the upper end height of a leakage prevention layer 4 lower than the upper surface position of a lid 2, or by bringing a portion of the leakage prevention layer 4 into non-contact with a battery case 1 and the lid 2, and providing a storage space of the electrolyte in the clearance thereof. When a neutralizer 6 of electrolyte is held in the clearance of the leakage prevention layer 4 and the sealed lead-acid battery 3, damage on the external facility of the battery is prevented by the neutralizer 6 even if leakage of electrolyte occurs, and when the characteristics of discoloring upon contact with the neutralizer 6 are imparted to the neutralizer 6, discoloring can be confirmed visually and can be addressed without delay.
