PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce transfer failure, while maintaining a paper feeding speed.SOLUTION: A medium conveyance device includes: conveyance members conveying media stored in storage containers; blowing devices blowing gas from a side to the media stored in the storage container to separate the loaded media from each other; and a determination means determining whether an image to be recorded at a position of the medium to which the gas from the blowing device is blown is an image that is set in advance to be susceptible to recording failure, based on the image to be recorded on the medium. When the determination means determines that recording failure of the image is susceptible to occurrence, the conveyance member conveys a medium to which a reduced amount of gas is blown, compared with a case where the recording failure is not susceptible to occurrence.
