IMAGE PICKUP DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform image correction when photographing a dynamic picture image without interrupting acquisition of image data even when photographing conditions have changed.SOLUTION: An image pickup device comprises an image sensor including a pixel array consisting of a plurality of pixels to generate image signals which are arranged in two-dimensional matrix form and readout means for selectively reading out image signals from first and second regions of the pixel array. The image pickup device generates correction data on the basis of image signals read out from pixels in the first region before storing it in memory and corrects image signals read out from pixels in a range which was set using the correction data read out from memory addresses corresponding to a readout pixel range which was set in the second region. Then, it updates the correction data stored in a predetermined address range of memory on the basis of image signals read out from a range of pixels in the first region corresponding to the predetermined address range.
