ENGINE STARTING DEVICE AND AUTOMATIC STOPPING AND RESTARTING CONTROL DEVICE OF ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine starting device that can determine a failure occurrence location in an inrush current suppression circuit, and to provide an automatic stopping and restarting control device of an engine.SOLUTION: An engine starting device in which an inrush current suppression circuit 25 having a resistor 23 and a bypass relay 24 connected in parallel is interposed between a battery 22 and a starter motor 21, and a normally-open contact 26 of the bypass relay 24 is closed when the engine is started, wherein the engine starting device comprises a failure distinction part 29 for distinguishing the failure occurrence location in the inrush current suppression circuit 25 on the basis of a minimum voltage (a battery voltage minimum value A) of the battery 22 during starter motor operation, and a voltage drop amount (battery voltage storage value B-battery voltage minimum value C) of the battery 22 when the normally-open contact 26 is operated in a closing direction.
