A hole injection layer 107 is formed above the anode 105 in a Z-axis direction, contains a first oxide MOx which is an oxide of a metal element Msuch as W and the composition ratio x of oxygen in at least a part of the layer is smaller than the stoichiometric ratio. A mixed layer 106 is formed abutting on the anode 105 and the hole injection layer 107 between the anode 105 and the hole injection layer 107, contains a second oxide MOy which is an oxide of the same metal as the metal element Mand the composition ratio y in at least a part of the layer is smaller than the stoichiometric ratio.
