Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device that has high extraction efficiency of light, an excellent angle-of-field characteristic and an excellent display contrast, and can suppress an image unsharpness.SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is provided to comprise: a color filter layer that includes a base member, a light shield part formed in a pattern form on one surface of the base member, a field characteristic adjustment layer formed on a surface on the light shield part side of the base member and having a light scattering layer, and a coloring layer; a liquid crystal cell; a pair of polarizing plates arranged on both sides of the liquid crystal cell; and a backlight arranged on the outermost layer of any one of the liquid crystal cell and employing parallel light. The filed characteristic adjustment layer is arranged on an opposite side to the liquid crystal cell side of the polarizing plate positioned on an opposite side to a side of the backlight, out of the pair of polarizing plates, and thereby the above-mentioned problem is solved.
