Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas detector capable of producing accurate detection output even at low temperature, and a driving method thereof.SOLUTION: A gas detector X includes a gas detecting element 1 which is mainly composed of sintered metal oxide to cover precious metal wiring and has a gas sensitive part 12 to come into contact with a gas to be detected, a support part 2 made of metal for supporting each of both ends of the precious metal wiring, and a heating part 5 for heating the support part 2. A driving method of the gas detector includes driving the heating part 5 when the atmospheric temperature reaches -10°C or lower.
