METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DETECTING ABNORMALITY OF AXLE BEARING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing acoustic disturbance as much as possible in a railway vehicle (1), and while considering variation in rolling motion sound caused by dispersion in wheel tread states, detecting abnormality of an axel bearing, and to provide a bearing monitoring system for achieving the method.SOLUTION: A bearing monitoring method for detecting abnormality of an axel bearing (7) of a railway vehicle (1) includes: a step for installing a microphone (31) on a side of rails (11); a step for installing noise insulation equipment (51) between the rails and the microphone; a vehicle traveling sound detection step for detecting a vehicle traveling sound by the microphone (31); a rolling motion sound corresponding-value detection step for detecting a rolling motion sound corresponding-value by a rolling motion sound corresponding-value detector (71) attached to the rail; and an abnormality detection step for detecting abnormality of the axel bearing (7) on the basis of the vehicle traveling sound and the rolling motion sound corresponding-value.
