Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for selectively and variably controlling a coolant flow passing a fuel assembly.SOLUTION: A lower tie plate assembly 58 provided with an asymmetrical mechanism designed so as to control or change a loss coefficient in accordance with rotation of a related fuel assembly in a reactor core is provided. A related method for controlling a flow of a coolant passing the related fuel assembly due to the rotation of the fuel assembly around a fuel support member 36 is provided. Flow control is used for adjusting especially an assembly flow rate, an assembly output and flow quality in the fuel assembly out of assembly operation characteristics. Since a core flow rate is generally fixed, such flow control can simultaneously exert influence also on a flow passing another assembly. In an intra-core base, an intra-core parameter can be optimized by using such flow control. Especially interesting optimization parameters are fuel cycle cost and moisture carryover.
