Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a butt joint for FRP-made plates, and a butt joining method which provides tensile strength comparable with that of the joint formed by the secondary lamination of a fiber fabric and can thereby prevent abrupt breakage even if initial breakage is generated by a load.SOLUTION: A butt joint 1 for FRP plates butt-joins respective end surfaces WE and WE of a pair of the FRP plates W and W and includes adhered FRP layers 2 and 2 laminated so as to extend over individual front surfaces Wf and Wf and back surfaces Wb and Wb of the pair of FRP plates W and W with end surfaces WE and WE joined temporarily, two oblique holes 2a and 2b which are formed in such a way as to be inclined in two mutually-conflicting directions with respect to the axes perpendicular to the adhered FRP layer 2 and to be aligned in the width direction at both ends of the adhered FRP layer 2 so as to penetrate the adhered FRP layer 2 and enter the FRP plate W and pins 3 and 3 inserted into the oblique holes 2a and 2b, respectively. |
