APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING LIQUID DEVELOPER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for producing a liquid developer, in which a liquid developer including toner particles in a range of a target volume average particle diameter is produced without requiring in-situ measurement of the volume average particle diameter.SOLUTION: An apparatus 100 for producing a liquid developer includes: a tank 52 reserving a dispersion liquid including a liquid and toner particles; a pulverization device 60 pulverizing the toner particles in the dispersion liquid fed from the tank 52; a liquid feeding passage 76 where the dispersion liquid is circulated between the tank 52 and the pulverization device 60; a liquid feeding device 54 provided in the liquid feeding passage 76 to feed the dispersion liquid; a pressure gauge 80 provided in the liquid feeding passage 76 to measure a feeding pressure of the dispersion liquid; and a determination device (no graphic display), which compares the feeding pressure measured with the pressure gauge 80 to a feeding pressure when toner particles have a target volume average particle diameter, preliminarily measured by using a dispersion liquid having the same composition as that of the above dispersion liquid, and then determines whether or not the toner particles in the dispersion liquid are pulverized into a size corresponding to the target volume average particle diameter.
