Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device using a wall electrode which facilitates enclosing of liquid crystal and improves transmittance.SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device comprises a plurality of pixels arranged in a matrix. Each of the pixels comprises: large walls 14 which extend in a long-side direction of the pixel at both ends of the pixel; and a small wall 15 which extends parallel to the large walls between the large walls and is lower in height than the large walls. A TFT-side electrode 16 is formed on the small wall. A wall electrode 21 is formed on a side surface of the large wall between the large wall and the small wall. The large walls 14 are separated between the pixels in the long-side direction. The small wall 18 which is lower in height than the large walls is arranged between the separated large walls. In addition, the liquid crystal display device further comprises a drain line in the long-side direction of the pixel and a gate line in the short-side direction of the pixel, and a common electrode 19 is formed in an upper layer of the drain line and the gate line across the small wall 18.
