Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outdoor unit for an air conditioner that has superior energy saving and resource saving properties.SOLUTION: An outdoor unit for an air conditioner includes: a suction section 36 through which air is introduced; a heat exchanger 41 which has a flat plate-shaped heat exchange section and allows the heat exchange section to exchange heat between a refrigerant and air which has been introduced through the suction section 36; an air blower which has a propeller fan 51 disposed so as to face the heat exchange section and forms an air current flowing from the suction section 36 toward the heat exchanger 41; and a blowing section 37 which delivers the air subjected to the heat exchange by the heat exchanger 41. When the heat exchanger 41 is viewed from the direction of the rotation axis of the propeller fan 51, the heat exchange section has a substantially-square shape.
