VALVE TIMING ADJUSTING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve timing adjusting device capable of reducing power consumed in an actuator for holding a relative phase while avoiding complication of a constitution.SOLUTION: A planetary gear 50 is linked to a drive rotating body 10 which rotates in conjunction with a crank shaft and a driven rotating body 20 which rotates in conjunction with a cam shaft 2, and changes a relative phase between the drive rotating body 10 and the driven rotating body 20 by decelerating the rotation of a planetary carrier 40 by planetary movement. The planetary carrier 40 can generate brake torque by making a contact face 48 contact with an opposing face 27 arranged at the driven rotating body 20. Accordingly, when holding the relative phase or a mechanism phase between the respective rotating bodies 10, 20, input torque inputted from the actuator 4 to the planetary carrier 40 can be suppressed. Thereby, the power consumption of the actuator 4 can be reduced.
